Board of Trustees
What is the Library Board of Trustees?
Members of the volunteer Board of Trustees serve the Halifax community by setting library policies; overseeing the library budget, hiring the library director; advocating for the library locally and on the state level; staying informed about issues concerning the library; and engaging in an ongoing planning process for the growth and improvement of library services.
The Board normally meets at the Library on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM
Trustee meetings are open to the public. To find a meeting agenda, you will have to search for the meeting that you are looking for on the Town Calendar. The agenda for the meeting will be attached to the calendar item. The Agendas link below will take you to the Town Calendar only showing the Trustee Meetings.
This is an elected position. In the case of a vacancy on the Board, the Trustees and Selectmen may jointly appoint a Trustee. That appointment will expire with the next town election in May.
Residents with questions should contact the Board of Selectmen’s office at 781-294-131
