Poetry with Faye George

Wed., April 8, 6:30 p.m.

April Is National Poetry Month! Please join us for a reading by Faye George from World of Hard Use, a collection of poetry written over many years about the employed and the unemployed, the exploited, and the marginalized. Faye describes them as "poems of doers and dreamers, artists and poets, of creativity and aspiration, success and failure."

Copies of the book will be for sale immediately following the reading, but no purchase is necessary to attend. The reading is funded by the Friends of the Holmes Public Library. Light refreshments will be available.

What to Read (or listen to) Next?

New resources for readers

NoveList - for recommended reading lists, read-alikes of popular books, book reviews and reading suggestions based on your interests.

BookLetters - for new releases, award lists, and reading lists geared to all ages. You can browse the lists, or subscribe to have them sent to your email address. Visit this page to subscribe to the Holmes Library monthly e-newsletter to stay up to date with library news and events.

Tax Forms

The IRS did not mail instruction booklets or additional forms and schedules to public libraries this year. We have plenty of 1040 and 1040A forms left, but the 1040EZ forms are almost gone. A binder of reproducible forms is available for photocopying. The charge for the photocopier is ten cents a page.

Massachusetts state tax booklets are in. The booklets have all the forms and instructions you need to file your 2014 state income tax return.

Federal tax forms will be put out as we get them, but the IRS is cutting back on the number of printed forms it sends to libraries. The IRS will not be mailing printed instruction booklets to libraries this year.

Instructions and Forms can be requested from home or downloaded directly from the IRS site. Visit our Tax Forms page for information.
