Fall Storytimes
Sessions begin Sept. 3

Infant Lapsit returns to its regular weekly schedule starting Friday, Aug. 28, at 10 a.m. Fall storytimes resume regular Thursday and Friday schedules starting Sept. 3.

Health Literacy
Wednesday, Sept. 2, 10 a.m.

Learn how to obtain, communicate, process, and understand basic health information and services and make more informed decisions about your health. A free one-hour presentation by Dr. Jim O'Neil of Bridgewater Patient Advocacy and Wellness Services.

Author Rosalind Cuschera
Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1 p.m.

Author Rosalind "Roz" Cuschera will speak to the Holmes Genealogy Club about researching and writing her novel, Journey from San Rocco, based on her own family's history. Visitors and guests welcome!

Ginamark Concert
Saturday, Sept. 12, 12 noon

Celebrate the return of Saturday hours and the library's 21st anniversary in its current building with Ginamark, a popular band from Kingston! Bring your own brown bag lunch if you like. The Friends of the Library will provide cold drinks and ice cream or Popsicles. Performance is funded by the Halifax Cultural Council, a local agency funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

 

Every Hero Has a Story

Reserve Museum Passes from Home!

Museum Passes

You can now browse for and book museum passes online. A valid library card is needed to reserve and pick up the pass. Due to high demand, the Massachusetts State Parks parking pass is now available to Halifax residents only. *NEW* Boston Harbor Islands ferry pass (buy 1, get 1 free).

We have clubs for all ages and interests. Here's what we're reading now:

  • Mystery Readers - Notorious by Allison Brennan | meeting - Sept. 9 at 2 p.m.
  • Afternoon Readers - I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella | meeting - Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.
  • Children's Book Club - El Deafo by Cece Bell | meeting - Sept. 23 at 2:45 p.m.

Library Board of Trustees

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
Trustee meetings are open to the public.
