Mixing the Mediums: Art & Poetry Workshop with Bill Alberti
Wednesday, Sept. 10, 6-7:30 p.m.

Do you like to look at artwork? Do you enjoy reading descriptive writing? Ever thought about writing something? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please register for this free and fun workshop presented by poet/instructor Bill Alberti:

  • Learn about Ekphrastic writing
  • View and discuss works of art
  • Read poems about art by well-known poets
  • Try your hand at writing about a work of art
  • Optional: Share your work with the group

NO expertise in art or writing required! This program is supported by a grant from the Halifax Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

If you had photos taken at the Bruins Visit (Storytime with Blades), please come in to pick up your official photo from the Boston Bruins and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners! Photos from library events may appear on Flickr, Facebook, at the library and on the library Web site.

Friends of the Library

The next regular meeting for the Friends will be Wednesday, September 24 at 6:30 pm. New members are always welcome!

Library Board of Trustees

The Library Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome its new trustees Caroline Harrington and Ava Grimason. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the trustees will be Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m. There is still a vacancy on the board that the trustees are actively seeking to fill.

Trustee meetings are open to the public.
