Ruth was an individual whose many gifts and talents have enriched our community in so many ways. A long-time Halifax resident, Ruth personified the term "Public Servant". She was a Library Trustee from 1969-1972; Town Historian from 1980-1985; a Republican Election Worker from 1994-1995; and served on the Halifax 250th Birthday Committee from 1980-1984. In addition to this volunteer/community service, she served the community as Town Clerk and Town Treasurer from 1972-1993 when she retired. Through her selfless dedication and unwavering commitment to democratic ideals, Ruth helped build, strengthen, and enrich our community.
