    Merriam-Webster On-Line - A searchable on-line dictionary and thesaurus. Includes word games and a word of the day.

    Wikipedia - The free on-line encyclopedia.

Health Resources

    AIDSinfo - A site dedicated to offering the latest federally approved information about AIDS/HIV clinical research.

    ClinicalTrials.Gov - Provides up to date information about federal and privately funded clinical research on human participants. Searchable by keyword or browsing.

    Dirline - The gateway to U.S. Deptartment of Health Services.

    Flu Clinics - A flu clinic locator web site that lists public flu clinics in Massachusetts. Currently, the clinics listed are providing season flu immunizations and some clinics are offering pneumococcal ("pneumonia") immunizations.  The site also has links to
    the most current information on both seasonal and H1N1 vaccines from the
    Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the CDC.  When the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine becomes available, the website will list the public clinics that are providing this vaccine.

    The Guide to Poisonous Plants - Details on various plants, their toxicity to humans, and tips on what to do if the plant is ingested.

    Haz-Map - An occupational health database offering information about the possible health effects related to various job fields.

    Healthfinder - The directory of health organizations.

    Household Products Database - Contains information on over 4,000 consumer brands and ingredients.

    Medicare.Gov - The official U.S. government site for people with Medicare.

    MEDLINEplus - Offers over 650 health topics along with drug information, a medical dictionary, and news. Resources also available in Spanish.

    Mesothelioma - Asbestos.com offers a one-stop resource on all asbestos issues ranging from occupational exposure to mesothelioma treatment options.

    PubMed - Offers over 14 million citations for biomedical articles going back to the 1950s.

    WebMD - provides valuable health information, tools for managing your health, and support

It is also the largest library in the world, with more than 120 million items. The collections include books, sound recordings, motion pictures, photographs, maps, and manuscripts.
