Friends of the Holmes

Welcome to the web home for the Friends of the Holmes Public Library. The Friends of the Holmes Public Library is a non-profit, volunteer organization. Our mission is to support the Holmes Public Library here in Halifax.

One hundred percent of all the funds we raise go directly to the library! Thanks to our members and business partners, we have provided programs, materials, equipment, and support to the Holmes Public Library in Halifax for over twenty years.

Our goals are simple. We want our members to have a great time and to be excited about the Friends. We want to give something back to support the town in which we all live. As always, all donations directly benefit the Holmes Public Library. In addition to traditional programming, proceeds will be used to:

-Enhancements to the Ruth V. Perkins Reading Garden

-Support students by working with local schools to build a non-fiction collection that reflects the revised K-12 Curriculum Frameworks

-Support new area residents by providing "There's No Place Like the Holmes" Welcome to Halifax Community Packets and Programs.

To join, either contact the Friends or stop by one of our meetings. Thank you.
